Copy-Change: “Little Bird” by Clementine von Radics

Original Poem:

Little Bird
Clementine von Radics

You are a church of broken glass
And hallelujahs.
You are haunted like every other
Holy thing.
What tried to destroy you didn’t
Have the strength.
Still you stand.
Sturdy and smelling of smoke.

Lily Davison’s take:

You are a home of broken promises
And fairy lights.
You are weathered like every other
Tiny being.
What tried to diminish you couldn’t
Hold a candle.
Still you burn.
Sturdy and smelling of smoke.
