Washington Crossing the Delware
Washington Crossing the Delaware by Lily Davison, Tony Senatore, Samantha Proctor, and Audrey Bartholomew
We are depicting “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by Emanuel Leutze (circa 1851). We chose this piece because it has a lot of room for creativity with the water and the boat, and also is easy to modernize with new technology like cars. We thought this new interpretation would be really funny, because there is a lot of potential for innovation and also we would just be using Lily’s car as our vessel. The modern interpretation of this piece shows the passage of time and development of technology, all while still intertwining with the human race.
