Regret

Regret

Empty seats.
Mocking, waiting.
Never filled.
Considered but not.
Crumbling, wrinkling.
Regret.
Facing back,
I choose the new.
Soft heads, tender hands.
Eyes, glistening.
First smiles, first steps.
Guiding hands, smoothing hair.
Wiping tears.
Grasping.
Wrinkled hands, filled seats.
