A Major Flaw
One of the few blunders I saw in the Star Wars films happened to be very significant, in my eyes at least. In episode 1 “The Phantom Menace”, the main antagonist was a new sith lord named Darth Maul. I would have to say he was one the most badass characters in the star wars franchise, not to mention he could made the rest of the Prequels trilogy sooooooooo much better. In the end of episode 1, Darth Maul ends up killing Obi Wan Kenobi’s master, Kwi Gon Jin, in an epic battle of the two jedi knights vs the new sith menace. Here’s where the blunder comes in. Upon the death of his master, Obi Wan goes into a fit of rage and inevitably kills darth maul using his cunning wit, swiftly ending what could have developed into an amazing, revenge filled relationship between the two characters, throughout the prequels. Keeping Maul alive would have given Obi Wan a way better story arc. If he were to have reoccurring encounters with the evil that killed his master it could have made his involvement in the prequels more meaningful and emotionally charged.
