Overdose

If you’re a fan of Arctic Monkeys or The Neighbourhood, I guarantee you’ll be a fan of Maudlin Strangers. I saw them perform when they opened for Coasts and Bad Suns in Philly, and I was impressed with their confidence and their ability to engage with the audience. They only have a handful of songs because they basically just got started, but they’re all super cool. My favorite so far is “Overdose.”

Lyrics:

I see a girl in black and white
Sitting alone out of sight with a colorful mind
But I don´t know why she doesn’t let it out
I sit she grips my hand tells me she´s scared
But I´m the only one that cares
Says I swear to God you´re gonna fix me up
It´s Friday night, we’re in my bed, we´re all alone
You´re in my head

It´s Friday night, we’re in my bed, we´re all alone
You´re in my head
Stoned out of our minds
Keep me close cause I´ll do whatever it takes to fall into the sky
I catch your flame to light your cigarette
I like the way you smoke
It and I feel against all the odds you´re gonna fix me up.
It´s Friday night, we´re in my bed
We´re all alone, you´re in my head

It´s Friday night, we´re in my bed
We´re all alone, you´re in my head
Will we die where we grow?
Will we die where we grow?
Will we die where we grow?
It´s Friday night, we´re in my bed
We´re all alone, you´re in my head

It´s Friday night, we´re in my bed
We´re all alone, you´re in my head

Like I said, the best way to know if you’ll like Maudlin Strangers is to know how you feel about Arctic Monkeys and The Neighbourhood. I could definitely see this band catching on quickly.
