My stringy delight
Or bowtie lover
Penne, my soul
Or tortellini that kills.
There’s a bond to my heart
That weakens my knees
I bring you the beauty
Of lasagna or Bolognese.
I was raised off of rice
Chicken, salad, and beans
Nothing even close to my beloved Italian Cuisine.
I’ve been told to stay away,
From the carbs that gain pounds
“You’re going to get fat,
Make sure to watch out.”
Oh but father don’t you know
It’s not all that bad,
I can add shrimp, vibrant vegetables
Give it a healthy tad.
I fear, my future lover,
They’ll try to break us apart
But nothing can interrupt
My dying love for carbs.
